After reviewing videos from past nights and careful listening to every lyric and every melody, my choice for the last Wild Card is Micah Zumar.
It’s always a bitter sweet moment when I need to chose a Wild card, I’m at once happy for the person who clearly deserves it and feel sad at others with whom I’ve become attached to. To those left behind in this Final, I feel privileged to have seen you grace the stage and blossom within 5 short weeks. The level of Talent has been high that in my opinion, at least 5 more of you could have played on Friday August 10.
But it is what it is and feel very happy at the Artists we set forth for the Jury Panel.
Ottawa has some much more great Song Writers than I ever expected. The city is highly under rated. There was a time when companies wouldn’t touch Montreal with a 20 foot people. Today things have changed and I believe that very soon Ottawa will finally get it’s fair share of recognition. During my travels, I’ll sure to praise this city as much as I can.
To all the wonderful people I’ve met, I urge you to keep in touch. It’s been a wonderful journey.
I hope to see you all at the Final tomorrow at 7h30pm!
Then it’s off to the next city!
