On a packed night at “The Rainbow” in Ottawa, chosen out of 60 Singer Songwriters, 12 Finalists took the stage. From reggae to Rock, to New Age, Jazz, Soul, Alternative and Folk, Riishi Von Rex with her no none sense Joplin meets Carole Pope, slightly off center sound and powerful vocal took home the Gold with the song “Drowing” and will be the Artist to represent Ottawa in the National Final of the 2012 edition of “The Great Canadian Song Search!”. Some artists were disappointed as some will always be, but from where I stood, the audience agreed with the Judge’s choice.
